Wanders around in some cool ambience, and then breaks into more familiar BSS sound. The EP has some good stuff on it too, though I haven't begun to explore that one enough yet. Took a couple listens to the main disc before it really started happening for me, but after that, I like it! Seemed kind of all over the place at first, kind of disconnected, but then it started to come together. So back on track, I'm at the library a few weeks ago cruising the stacks for some new reads, and before checking out with something new from (appropriately Toronto's own) Karl Schroeder and something else from Alastair Reynolds, I stopped by the rather pitiful picked over CD racks and spied the 2005 Broken Social Scene 2-CD set, so snared it and the rest is history. Good for a few listens, but now retired to the probably never gonna play again pile. And even stranger, I actually bought that soundtrack to two chicks sipping coffee at Starbuck's by Feist a coupla years ago. The album is capped by a ten-minute opus called It’s All Gonna Break. ) that for some reason, probably because I didn't want to chance spoiling that lingering charm, I never picked up the self-titled next one.
